1. The Work Speaks
Rigorously tested, efficiently deployed. Fast progress still needs to be accurate. I aim to test my methods and understanding. The solution should be robust and adaptable. It should solve today’s problem and be ready for future ones. Work is iterative, so I aim to deploy every change efficiently and avoid needless dependencies.
Slow, steady, accountable. Slow work helps me stay aware. I aim to catch costly mistakes early, mine and others’. I own my judgment and quality. Wrong turns become lessons. Doing things well now, when the context or memory is clearer, saves time later. It also clears away trivial problems, so I can focus on what matters. I aim to keep things simple. If I can’t explain something simply, I don’t understand it well enough.
Quality over quantity. It has never been easier to do a lot without meaningful contribution. I aim to make my work essential, meaningful and relevant. My approach should make meaningful progress toward the solution of the problem. When it doesn’t, I change my approach. Showing progress is not my goal. Actually making progress is.
2. Humans and AI Complement Each Other
Use AI effectively. AI complements my work. I aim to use it to improve the quality of what I produce and to get through bottlenecks quicker. AI can do things no human can. Humans can do things AI cannot yet do. Holding context, connecting disparate ideas and drawing out diverse opinions are human strengths. Using AI well means knowing what it does best today. Then I know that the rest is my responsibility.
Adapt constantly. AI is evolving rapidly. I aim to keep track of what changes so it stays a useful complement to my work. This takes open mindedness, without fear or fatigue. Curiosity helps me use AI effectively and adapt.
3. Teams and Community Come First
Strong interpersonal skills. AI has shifted white collar work. It is less about knowledge and more about how I navigate my team, my community and the world. New ideas that AI has not yet seen still come from people. To be approachable and be taken seriously, I aim to build strong interpersonal skills, where I learn to navigate different personalities and engage them in productive conversation.
Cognitive security. A team needs to feel safe to belong, generate and express ideas. I aim to help build that security. It lets us spearhead complex and difficult problems. It also lets us stay steadfast and take tough but fair decisions.
Bold but kind. Hard problems need bold ideas. I aim to share mine without reservations, but with kindness. I welcome ideas from others the same way. Making a difference demands radical openness.
